It is official! David is an old man!

Yup. David turns 65 on August 16, but the celebrations started today. The office staff took him and me out for lunch at a nearby country club. It was quite a successful surprise. Food was great. They toasted David and he had to sit there and smile as they said nice things about him. :) The maitredee complimented us on our singing--wanted to sign us up for a gig! So, although he is officially an old man, he is not planning to actually retire for another year. You know, wait until he can get the full social security. Maybe by then the whole program will be defunct! Hope not. We would be in a sore spot, along with many others.

Next question is: Where are you going to retire, David? We should begin those discussions yesterday. At this point we both know we want to move back to the Pacific Northwest. Once you have lived by the ocean, you are scarred for life. Nothing else will be "home" after that. We both miss it. When the heat comes on like a furnace and the humidity makes your hair curl, you miss the crisp, cool, cleanness even more!

After that delightful lunch, and good company I took a nap and worked on the seminar talks. And, that was how the day went! Hope you all had a day filled with smiles and things to thank God for! Blessings, Carol
